International Day of Women and Girls in Science
On 22 December 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution to establish an annual International Day to recognise the vital role of women and girls in scientific and technological communities, to support and promote their access to and participation in education, training and research activities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at all levels. It was then decided to proclaim 11 February each year as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. [Source: un.org]
