International Day of Girls and Women in Science 2024
On 22 December 2015, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted a resolution to establish an annual International Day to recognise the vital role of women and girls in scientific and technological communities, to support and promote their access to and participation in education, training and research activities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at all levels. It was then decided to proclaim 11 February each year as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
IMDEA Nanociencia participates every year in this initiative, offering talks and visits to the laboratories by female researchers for students of all ages.
