Dr. Ester Palmero Rodriguez
Ester M. Palmero received her B.Sc in Electronics Engineering and M.Sc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Jaén in 2007 and 2010, respectively. During that period, she obtained two grants to work in the Department of Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering to study the corrosion of different metals, particularly in CO2 absorption processes. In 2013 she joined the Group of Nanomagnetism and Magnetization Processes at the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) where she dealt with the synthesis and characterization of magnetic nanostructures for information storage and sensing applications. During that period she got expertise in electrochemical synthesis of magnetic nanostructures; structural, magnetic and magneto-optical characterization; and experiments in synchrotron light facilities. In 2016, Dr. Palmero obtained her Ph.D. in Advanced Materials and Nanotechnologies from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In 2017 she began her research activity at IMDEA Nanoscience as postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Permanent Magnets and Applications. She is responsible of 3D-printing of magnetic composites, and synthesis of nanostructures for developing novel permanent magnets with no or reduced content of rare-earth elements.
